The Minnesota American Legion will sponsor its second annual photography contest this year -- the 2010 Minnesota Legion Calendar Photo Contest. Entries will be due by the time of the
Department Convention in mid-July. The 12 winning entries will be featured in the annual Legion calendar for 2011. The winning photo will be on the cover of the calendar. There will be three cash prize winners
and nine runners-up in the contest. Winners will be judged by a distinguished panel of Legion officials. The first place winner will earn a prize of $250. The second place will win $150 and the third place will
win $100. All 12 winners will be in the calendar. Here are the rules: 1. All entries must have as a subject either an American Legion or a patriotic theme. 2.
Entrants must be members of The American Legion, the American Legion Auxiliary, or the Sons of the American Legion. 3. All photos entered must have been taken by the entrant. 4. Photos may be entered by
sending them via mail to Department Headquarters, Room 300A, 20 West 12th Street, St. Paul, MN 55155. They may also be submitted electronically by e-mailing to azdon@mnlegion.org. 5. Entries must be of good
enough quality for the judges to consider. 6. All entries must be postmarked by July 16, 2010, or be emailed prior to midnight on July 17, 2010. The winners will be announced in the August issue of the Minnesota
Legionnaire. 7. All entries must be copyright free and be able to be published in the calendar without encumberment. 8. All entries must be accompanied by the information contained in adjacent list including
the approximate date the picture was taken, a description of what is in the image, the name of the photographer, the type of camera, shutter speed, aperture, film or electronic, etc. 9. All photographs must have
been taken within the past year. For this year's contest, all entries must have been shot between July 2009 and July 2010 inclusive. 10. Contestants may enter no more than three photos for the annual contest.
